About the experience.
The road climbs out of the bay into the mountains in comfortable, air-conditioned transport, with views along the way and a guide who sets up the day. Mascota is a self-sufficient town: its restaurants and hotels buy their vegetables, dairy, poultry and meat from small farms in the surrounding valley.
Talpa is one of Mexico’s great pilgrimage centers, where more than a million pilgrims a year walk to venerate the Virgen del Rosario, some covering 117 kilometers on foot. In both towns you walk the historic center with your guide and stop to taste food prepared by local cooks.
Lunch, light snacks and bottled water are included. Departures are from Marina Vallarta or Nuevo Vallarta.

01How long is the drive?

02How is this different from San Sebastián del Oeste?
San Sebastián is a single mining town about 90 minutes away. This day goes further into the mountains to two larger towns, Talpa and Mascota, with a guided walk and food tastings in each.
