About the experience.
The Colomitos hike starts in the town of Boca de Tomatlán and follows the jungle mountainside, dropping to beach accesses along the way, until you reach the small cove of Colomitos for a swim in clear water. Transport, a bilingual guide, water and fruit are included.
Cerro del Mono is the highest hill in the south of Punta de Mita. The trail climbs through jungle where more than 350 endemic and migratory bird species have been recorded, with some scrambling over rocks and boulders near the top, to a view over the beaches of the Riviera Nayarit and the Sierra Madre Occidental. Guides share the natural and historic heritage of the Huichol land you cross. Round-trip transport, water and a tequila tasting are included.
El Jorullo is an 8-kilometer circuit into the Sierra Madre Occidental, with parrots and macaws in their habitat, a swim at the El Salto waterfall and a walk across a suspension bridge 470 meters long and 170 meters above the Cuale River. Shuttle, welcome drink, water, seasonal fruit, a snack and a tequila tasting are included. Bird watching is a guided outing to observe migratory and regional species, with a guide who also knows the local flora.

- Minimum ages: 10 for Cerro del Mono and 12 for El Jorullo. For Colomitos and bird watching, send ages and we confirm.
- Cerro del Mono involves scrambling over rocks near the summit and is not open to pregnant guests or to anyone with back, neck, heart or dizziness conditions.
- Colomitos is not recommended for anyone with heart or respiratory problems, diabetes, high or low blood pressure, epilepsy, reduced sight or hearing, or another condition that limits physical effort, and is not open to pregnant guests.
- El Jorullo is not open to pregnant guests, to anyone with asthma or heart or back problems, or to anyone under the influence of alcohol.
- Bring: light clothes and sneakers or hiking shoes, a change of clothes in case of rain, swimwear and a towel for Colomitos and El Jorullo, a cap, sunscreen, insect repellent, a small backpack, a camera and some cash.

01Which hike is the easiest?
Colomitos is the shortest and ends with a swim. El Jorullo is an 8-kilometer circuit and Cerro del Mono includes rock scrambling near the top. Tell us who is coming and we will suggest one.
02Can we swim?
Yes on Colomitos, at the beach, and on El Jorullo, in the pool below the El Salto waterfall. Bring swimwear and a towel.
03What is the suspension bridge?
A 470-meter footbridge 170 meters above the Cuale River at El Jorullo, crossed on foot as part of the hike.
04Is transport included?
Yes: transport on Colomitos, round-trip transport on Cerro del Mono and a shuttle on El Jorullo. We confirm pickup points with your booking.
