About the experience.
Your bilingual guide describes Tulum as it was when it was a working Maya trading city, home to priests and nobility. Afterwards there is time to explore on your own or to swim at the beach below the main temple, known as the castle.
The tour then heads into the jungle to a winding underground river. With a helmet, lamp, life jacket and snorkel gear, you swim through cenote caves and tunnels hung with stalactites. Lunch is at a beach club, with time to wade into the sea before the drive back.

Yes. After the guided visit there is free time, and you can swim at the beach below the castle.
